Mathews Lecture 2005: Award

The William R. Mathews Annual Lecture in Pathology award was presented by Mr. Lamar Jones to Dr. Warren Grafton during the Thursday evening events. The award, a 1840 Drum Microscope ~ Martin Type, was selected as it was commonly used by medical students during the late 1800's. Dr. Grafton was one of our faculty who had the honor of working with Dr. Mathews in cultivating an educational environment for future pathologists. Dr. Grafton, like many of the LSUHSC pathology faculty, has eagerly followed Dr. Mathew's lead by speaking with those interested in becoming a pathologist who will strive to continuously improve healthcare for future generations through service, education, and research.
