Welcome to the Billing Section for the Department of Pathology. Our highly qualified staff are ready to assist you with all billing inquiries.
Ms. Jennifer Russell is the Business Manager for the department and is a technical expert in Medicare and Medicaid billing, Insurance Billing, Direct Pay Billing, CPT and ICD9 coding. She can be contacted directly for questions regarding billing and discounts.
We offer several billing options:
- Client Billing - billing of a physician practice, group practice, health care provider facility.
- Insurance Billing - billing of insurers that we are an approved provider of services.
- Medicare/Medicaid
- Patient Billing - billing of outpatient to home
To expedite the billing process we will need the following informaton when the service is requested:
- Patient Name ( Last, First, Middle Initial)
- Patient Address
- Patient Social Security Number
- Patient date of birth
- Patient sex
- Patient category: Non-hospital patient, hospital inpatient, or hospital outpatient
- Referring physician
- ICD9
- Copy of patient's commercial or federal payor card (front and back)* *Please note that LSUHSC Department of Pathology in Shreveport can only accept Medicaid currently from Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, and Mississippi.
Partial or full charges are dependent on any and all procedures that were performed prior to notification in addition to transportation costs.
