Retired policies and procedures are maintained in the LSUHSC Clinical Laboratory POC Office for a minimum of 2 years. Notification of retirement as well as implementation of new policies and procedures are typically performed via e-mail notification to the appropriate nurse manager. Each nurse manager is responsible for updating their personnel of the changes or arranging training via the Clinical Laboratory POC personnel. Training is performed via one of the following mechanisms as determined appropriate by the Clinical Laboratory POC coordinator:
  • Clinical Laboratory POC personnel train all employees directly.
  • Clinical Laboratory POC personnel train nurse trainers who will train employees in their assigned areas.
  • Information relayed via staff meetings in each area with signed attendance sheets.
  • Employees sign acknowledging receipt of written information.
NOTE: Retired policies and procedures are available as a reference only and should never be utilized for current testing.
